Imagine if The Stanley Parable's narration system had a child with Silent Hill's fixed camera system combined with the visuals of the classic 90s. Well here is The Narrator.
A short 5 - 10 minute experience where you play as the narrator, forcing "the player" (Alex) to follow your decisions.
Inspired by PSX/VHS games. This game is a homage to that generation of video games.
Made in 48 hours for the GMTK 2023 game jam.

very nice and smooth short game . liked alex being watched throw camera perspective most of the time and the vhs effect for that time it was cool . loved all the endings and how funny it is . great job man keep up the good work <3

I enjoyed this game, the CCTV camera angles were very cool and nice combined with the VHS effect. The bell sound at the end of each ending was weirdly soothing. Loved the atmosphere too!

Alex is one of the most developed characters I have ever played in a video game. The game's visuals have so much aesthetic, making it a truly immersive experience. Each ending provides a conclusion that will change your view on life and the people surrounding you. It also educates the player with lifelong morals that will stick with them even after they close the game. Very replayable as well. 10/10 GOTY contender for sure.
